Trips of the Year 2015

These are the top travel experiences from Worth’s 2015 gift guide

Trips of the year 2015, Burgundy

Belmond Afloat in France Wine Academy in Burgundy, France

the first year Burgundy wine expert Pascal Wagner led guests of Belmond’s elegant French river barges into the Côte d’Or’s exclusive wineries, such as Château de Pommard. The three-day experience encompasses wine education, private vineyard tours and tastings, and even a hot-air balloon ride to demonstrate the region’s topography and terroir. Wagner’s passion for winemaking and joie de vivre—combined with the personal service from Belmond’s crew—make this experience particularly special.

This ambitious real estate project, with a 300- berth superyacht marina and a soon-to-open Park Hyatt, isn’t finished yet, but even in its infancy the complex has raised the bar for boating resorts in the Caribbean. Built by Kiawah Island mastermind Buddy Darby, Christophe Harbour balances development with environmental stewardship by restoring and preserving the ecosystems within its limits.
