Steven L. Zatz, M.D., is WebMD’s Chief Executive Officer, a position he was appointed to in September 2016. Dr. Zatz has been a member of the senior leadership of WebMD and its predecessor companies for 17 years. Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Zatz was President since August 2013, responsible for all aspects of the Company’s advertising and sponsorship business. Prior to becoming President, Dr. Zatz was Executive Vice President for Professional Services of WebMD where he was responsible for the Company’s professional websites and services including its flagship site for healthcare professionals, Medscape.com.

Under Dr. Zatz’s leadership, WebMD’s professional sites have become the leading source of online information for physicians and other health professionals, as well as the largest online source of continuing medical education. Dr. Zatz has overseen the development of Medscape’s strategic partnerships with leading professional societies, non-profits and academic centers.

Prior to joining WebMD, Dr. Zatz held leadership roles at US Quality Algorithms (USQA), which he founded as the quality measurement subsidiary of US Healthcare (now Aetna), and Physicians’ Online, where he was Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Zatz received his undergraduate degree from Yale College. He graduated from Cornell University Medical College and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
