Sophia Isabella Llanos Crowder

As a Student Ambassador for Higher Orbits & founder of ItGirls, Sophie aspires to inspire the next generation of STEMists, Innovators, and Space Explorers. She is a staunch advocate for gender equity and founded an initiative (ItGirls) to help empower other young girls to pursue non-traditional career pathways such as those in IT & STEM. She also initiated a mentoring program in her community by leading STEMsquad, a hands-on educational program for kids K-8. Sophie serves in the Advisory Board of Être Girls as well as in the Girls Advisory Council for IfThenSheCan (both mentorship programs for female empowerment). Aside from being a spokesperson for STEM and girl empowerment, Sophie is also an avid musician, trained martial artist and pilot-in-training. She is a high school sophomore taking dual college classes towards an associate’s degree in Information Technology. She is 15 years old.
