Michael Tanney

Michael joined Magnus Financial Group in April 2019.  Before joining Magnus, Michael was the managing partner of Wanderlust Wealth, a boutique wealth management firm that provided comprehensive financial oversight and direct private equity investments in early-stage companies to wealthy individuals.  His previous investment experience includes Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management where he advised various Fortune 500 executives, government officials, athletes, entrepreneurs, partners of financial and legal firms, multi-generational families and non-profit foundations on assets greater than $10 billion.  He holds a Series 65 advisory registration and while with Goldman Sachs, Michael previously maintained securities Series 7, 63 and 66 registrations.   With a transparent communication style, he has been quoted in Forbes, US News, Newsday, CBS News, USA Today, Yahoo! Finance, as well as on YouTube and podcasts.   Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Indiana University and is an emeritus member of the Indiana University Distinguished Alumni Council. He received his Master of Science in Education, summa cum laude, from Baruch College’s Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, where he currently sits on the Dean's Advisory Council and has previously guest lectured on financial literacy and entrepreneurship.   Michael is an Eagle Scout award recipient and enjoys competing in triathlons, experiencing culture through travel and expanding his culinary palate.
