Susan Chapman-Hughes is the EVP/GM of Global Digital Capabilities, Transformation and Operations (GDCT&O) in the Global Commercial Services (GCS) division at American Express. She leads a global team responsible for managing, optimizing, and transforming the customer experience for commercial clients to help power the GCS business. She leads the evolution of the annual investment process, helps to revolutionize global data strategy and insights capabilities, advances our digital and automation offerings, and oversees our regulatory and operations processes.

In addition to her professional roles, Ms. Chapman-Hughes is committed to volunteer work for non-profit community development organizations across the United States and remains an active mentor to young people in her community. She is currently on the board of New York Junior Tennis & Learning and previously held board member positions for A Better Chance, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, and Girls Inc.

Ms. Chapman-Hughes is presently a board member for the J.M. Smucker Company (SJM), and previously served as a director for Potbelly Corporation (PBPB). She has been named one of the Most Influential Women in Payments by PaymentsSource, she has been on the Grio 100 list by Grio.com/NBC Universal, and she has been honored as one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company.Ms. Chapman-Hughes holds a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also holds a Master of Regional Planning from The University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
