Steven Gray is an entrepreneurial storyteller who drives business across platforms and industries. He is currently Head of Content at Techonomy, a conference and content company focused on the intersection of tech, business, the economy and social progress.

Between 2016 and 2018, he was Vice President/Managing Editor at JPMorgan Chase, leading the Chase content team’s editors, writers and other creators building content strategy across the company’s major lines of business for digital platforms that reach more than 50 million people. He created successful, revenue-generating campaigns and series that introduced the brand’s products, services and people to diverse audiences. Much of the focus was on personal finance, succession planning, business growth and leadership. He helped build content programs with some of the world’s most innovative digital media companies, and he created the JPMorgan Chase Content Summit.

He has been Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Global Public Affairs at Laureate Education, a U.S. firm that expands access to higher education, mostly in the developing world. In this role he managed the firm’s philanthropic relationships and built youth social entrepreneurship programs in Latin America.

Most of his career has been in journalism. During five years at Time Inc., he worked in a variety of roles – including Time magazine/Time.com’s Washington Correspondent covering the intersection of politics, policy and business, as well as Detroit Bureau Chief, developing print and digital content for Time, Fortune, Money and People. Previously, he was a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.

He was born in New Orleans and graduated from Howard University. He was a graduate student at the University of Kent’s Brussels School of International Studies. He has provided analysis on MSNBC, CNBC, Fox, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He lives in New York.
