Stephen Raneri joined GM Advisory Group as Chief Investment Officer in 2017.

Mr. Raneri brings over 20 years of asset management experience to GMAG. He is responsible for the firm’s entire investment function, which includes leading the macroeconomic research process, developing the expectations for global markets and working with the rest of the GMAG research team to source best in class assets which, when combined into diversified portfolios, aim to deliver maximize risk-adjusted returns for its clients.

Additionally, Mr. Raneri is charged with this essential communication function. He has proven himself to be skillful in this area as well as in his ability to engage directly with GMAG’s clients to discuss the selection of assets and asset classes that GMAG allocates to client portfolios.

Mr. Raneri and his research team work closely with GMAG’s Portfolio Managers and Private Wealth Advisors to derive the mix of investment assets for client portfolios that will align with their financial goals.

Prior to joining GMAG, Mr. Raneri served as the Chief Executive Officer of LionEye Capital Management, an alternative asset management firm that he co-founded in early 2009 with $3 million and grew to manage approximately $1.4 billion in client assets in 2015. Throughout his career, Mr. Raneri has contributed to important firms in various capacities such as Managing Director of Ramius, Research Analyst at Soros, and Loeb, and Vice President of Bankers Trust. His experience in the areas of portfolio management, investment analysis, risk arbitrage management and research, mergers, and acquisitions and corporate finance, inform the depth and talent that he brings to GMAG.

He graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics and a concentration in Finance and Decision Sciences.
