Maura Hogan is an arts and culture writer based in Charleston, S.C. A contributing arts critic and columnist at The Post and Courier, she focuses on the nexus of art and community throughout South Carolina.  Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Gourmet and Garden & Gun, as well as in many Charleston publications. She has also held staff positions in the creative services departments of The New Yorker, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Gourmet and in the fundraising department of the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Raised in Charleston, she has a B.A. in English from the College of Charleston; a master’s degree of philosophy in creative Writing from Trinity College Dublin; and was a fellow at the National Critics Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center.
