Emma began teaching yoga in 2013 after receiving her 200-hour certification through Pure Yoga in Manhattan. She moved to New York City in 2011 with a BFA in Musical Theatre, and hopes to become an actor. About a year later, she found herself questioning what she wanted, drawn more to seeking meaning out of life than living a prescribed narrative. Now, with over 7 years of professional experience, yoga has taken her across the globe; from studios and gyms to corporate offices, retreat centers, and weddings.
A trained singer, Emma incorporates “nada” yoga, the yoga of sound, into her teachings. In 2018, she released an original album, “Bloom,” available on all major music platforms, as a love letter to her yoga practice. Her classes are challenging, inspiring, and introspective, meant to encourage mindfulness as an everyday practice. She currently teaches at Equinox Fitness clubs throughout Manhattan, and MindBodySoul, a boutique yoga studio in her local Washington Heights neighborhood. When she is not teaching, you can find her outside with her guru, a curvy pitbull named Robin, who she rescued 6 years ago. To learn more, visit www.emmapooleyoga.com!
