Doug Coursen, CFP, is a principle at Plante Moran Financial Advisors. As a member of the ultra-high net worth practice, Doug specializes in providing investment consulting, wealth transfer consulting, and income tax planning services to some of the firm’s largest clients. He’s worked with a number of clients in preparation for substantial liquidity events, including planning for the event, post-event cash management, and the development of long-term investment strategies on a multigenerational basis. Internally, Doug serves on the firm’s alternative investment committee, charged with providing complex solutions for sophisticated client situations. On the committee, he regularly participates in manager due diligence and strategy review. Doug has collaborated with and presented to the firm’s family office services group on multiple occasions. He holds a B.A. in finance from Michigan State University, where he graduated with distinction as a Financial Markets Institute Scholar. Doug is located in the firm’s Southfield, Mich. Office.
