If you’re an ardent watch collector, there’s a good likelihood you’re also a car enthusiast. The mechanics may be different, but both products require an immense amount of respect for the way machinery functions to create a beautiful masterpiece. Longtime watch enthusiast Aaron Sigmond first released a tome on the subject in 2016, visually linking prestigious watch editions to the cars, racers and brands that inspired their design. This week he releases his expanded edition of Drive Time: Watches Inspired by Automobiles, Motorcycles, and Racing (Rizzoli New York, 272 pages, $85), adding 50 pages, updated content and takes on the intersection between automobiles and timepieces from comedian Jay Leno and Tag Hauer CEO Jean-Claude Biver.
