Unparalleled Options for Mega Yacht Owners

THE MARINA AT CHRISTOPHE HARBOUR BUILDS ON WHAT NATURE STARTED. THIS IS A NATURAL, PROTECTED INNER HARBOR WITH EXCEPTIONAL OFFERINGS FOR SUPERYACHTS.

The topography of the harbor provides easy navigation—a straight shot in flat water without much swell and wind across the bow, rather than a crosswind situation. Inside the marina, 24 state-of-the-art berths, which can accommodate yachts of up to 300 feet, provide all the services demanding captains expect, along with other benefits for owners that go far beyond the norm.

UNIQUE IN THE CARIBBEAN: FREEHOLD BERTH OWNERSHIP

Instead of a leasehold model, berths at Christophe Harbour can be purchased outright. Berth owners are eligible to apply for citizenship in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment program, which has a variety of benefits including no individual income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and gift tax. Owners may also lease their docks, with the assistance of lease management professionals at the marina.

ALONGSIDE BERTHS PROVIDE BENEFITS FOR OWNERS AND CAPTAINS ALIKE

“Unlike berths that are stern-to-dock with anchors out, we have full-length alongside docks,” says Aeneas Hollins, director of yachting at Christophe Harbour and himself a former superyacht captain. “From the captain’s perspective, the boat is tied up very solidly. From an owner’s perspective, you can easily see what you own, the berth and the dock around the berth, and you get a sense of that security at the berth.” Hollins also points out that the crew can easily access the deck off the side of the boat, rather than just the aft deck. “By having full-length alongside berth, you have more options. Imagine a truck full of provisions arrives while you’re having a business meeting on the aft deck—with an alongside berth, those things are not conflicting.”

DOCKS DESIGNED FOR SUPERYACHTS

Rather than a floating dock, the dock at Christophe Harbour was built tall—five to six feet of freeboard, which is also the height of the dock’s deck above the water. “That’s very high for a small boat, but we’re not trying to put sport fishers in these berths,” says Hollins. “We cater to superyachts, and we’ve built what we need to serve these people.”

At every berth, there’s ultrafast WiFi and pumpout, as well as in-berth and high-pressure fueling setups. Christophe Harbour has one of the region’s largest fueling capacities with 48,000 U.S. gallons on-site (with 24 hours’ notice). The fuel is tax- and duty-free.

“The dock itself is terrific,” says Seumas Meharg, the captain of S/Y Bequia. “It’s big, safe and has all the necessary services. The marina staff were extremely helpful and assisted with both docking and support.”

PEACE OF MIND THROUGH SECURITY AND MORE

The marina has a single access point from the sea and a single access point to the dock via the Security Gatehouse with 24-hour security and certification by the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. It’s clearly buoyed for safe entry and exit.

Because Christophe Harbour is a designated customs point of entry for the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, expedited VIP clearance is available on-site. Work-permit access for crew and other professionals is simple, and concessions for provisioning and imports in the marina village are duty-free.

ACCESS TO AN EXCLUSIVE CARIBBEAN GETAWAY

Berth owners have access to the amenities present on the 2,500 acres of Christophe Harbour: clubs, restaurants, beaches, the soon-to-be completed Park Hyatt St. Kitts hotel and Tom Fazio golf course. “Without question, it’s a destination not to be missed by yachts cruising this area of Caribbean,” says Tim Smith, captain of M/Y Diamond Girl. “The place is beautiful, the people are great, and we now have a destination between destinations in the Leewards.”
