In June the Spectrem Group’s Affluent Index failed to build on May’s spectacular gains, declining modestly on concern among investors regarding the economy and stock market. The Millionaire Index lost ground, giving up three points to end the month at 13. Individuals who have at least $1 million of investable assets are mildly bullish, but while affluent investors are feeling more confident about their own financial situations, they are losing confidence in the economy. As a result, investors are skittish, opting for the relative safety of cash-based investments or forgoing new investments altogether.
