Moser: An avant-garde artist-designer who cofounded the Wiener Werkstätte in 1903 along with Josef Hoffmann, and who, like Hoffmann, was skilled in a variety of media. Dagobert Peche: A designer of furniture, jewelry, metalwork, glass, ceramics, textiles and wallpaper whose playful, neo-Baroque designs brought a new freshness to the Wiener Werkstätte aesthetic after World War I. Berthold Loffler: A graphic designer also noted for his jewelry and ceramics who, with Michael Powolny, cofounded the Wiener Keramik (Vienna Ceramic) workshops in 1906. Vally Wieselthier: A postwar ceramicist whose creations span the boundaries between utility and fine art sculpture. Otto Prutscher: Designed glass, fabric, bookbindings, leatherwork, furniture, silver and metalwork for the Wiener Werkstätte, but also worked under license for other manufacturers. |
