Santiago's Best Hotels
By Marianne Cotter and Daniel DelRe
03/01/2005
|
Santiago's best business hotels are located northeast of the
historic city center in the neighborhoods of Las Condes (Santiago’s new
financial district), Vitacura and Providencia. Arturo Merino Benítez
International & its FBOs are 40 mins or less by car from all
of
them.
The Ritz-Carlton Santiago
Calle El Alcalde, No. 15 www.ritzcarlton.com/hotels/santiago 56.2.470.8500
The Ritz-Carlton Santiago’s
June 2003 debut was a point of pride for Chile, as it was the luxury
brand’s
first foray into Latin America. Other hotels strive to match
its standard of
luxury and service.
Set in prestigious Las Condes, the
Ritz-Carlton Santiago’s
guests travel from the airport via helicopter.
Like all Ritz-Carltons, the
Santiago hotel has a three-floor Club Level
consisting of 52 rooms. Amenities
include check-in/check-out service,
four food presentations throughout the day,
including wine in the late
afternoon, wireless Internet and use of the 10th
floor lounge. Many
consider the hotel’s presidential suite to be the best in the
city.
All
guests can enjoy the full-service spa that sits on the roof under a
dome, with views of the Andes. In the Ritz’s flagship restaurant,
Adra,
executive chef Joerg Delin specializes in Latin American cuisine.
Finally, the
hotel’s Wine 365 bar celebrates Chile’s exceptional
viticulture, serving 365
different wines—one for each day of the
year—from more than 100 Chilean
vintners.
Radisson Plaza Santiago Hotel Avenida Vitacura 2610 www.radisson.com/santiagocl 56.2.203.6000
Located in Santiago's
Vitacura section adjoining the Santiago World Trade Center, the
Radisson offers
exceptional transportation amenities, including a
helicopter on call and a
heliport for direct transport of guests from
the airport. Guests can use the
hotel’s private car service or secure a
Peugeot for the duration of their stay.
The hotel will also provide a
bilingual driver.
Wireless Internet service is
available throughout the
hotel. The business center employs two full-time
bilingual secretaries
and can arrange for translation. Twelve meeting rooms are
fully
equipped with audio-visual facilities for presentations and meetings. The
theater-style room can accommodate 300 people.
The Radisson’s Brick
Restaurant
offers gourmet renderings of local cuisine. Executive chef
Marcelo Maillard is a
member of Les Toques Blanche, a prestigious
international association of
executive chefs.
The hotel’s Cocktail
Lounge is a combination coffee bar and
wine tasting venue that also
serves light meals. Wine dispensers are available.
Finally, Trader’s
Bar is an English-style pub with a bottle keeper on staff.
