Two coffee businesses ranked at or near the top of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list in the January/February issue of The CRO magazine. At number 1 was Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. Others in the top 10 were, in order, Advanced Micro Devices, NIKE, Motorola, Intel, IBM, Agilent Technologies, The Timberland Company, Starbucks and General Mills. The rankings were based on social and environmental characteristics, including issues such as governance, ethics, fairness toward employees, accountability to local communities, customer service and rate of return for investors. The survey included 1,100 publicly held U.S. companies.
