Affluence Doesn't Equal Happiness

The rich are no happier than anyone else, according to research published in the June 30 issue of Science. The idea that wealth brings happiness "is mostly illusory," according to the authors. They conclude that "people exaggerate the contribution of income to happiness because they focus, in part, on conventional achievements when evaluating their life or the lives of others."
