Affluence Doesn't Equal Happiness

The rich are no happier than anyone else, according to
research published in the June 30 issue of Science. The idea that wealth
brings happiness "is mostly illusory," according to the authors. They conclude
that "people exaggerate the contribution of income to happiness because they
focus, in part, on conventional achievements when evaluating their life or the
lives of others."
