Private equity funds target India.

Private equity funds targeting investments in India have raised nearly $2 billion this year, as investors seek to obtain a toehold in the country’s rapidly growing economy, according to a recent article appearing in Mumbai’s Daily News and Analysis.

With more than half its population under the age of 25, India is experiencing a consumer boom. It also boasts a large talent pool and benefits from deregulation of many sectors. These factors have caught the attention of investors targeting unfamiliar and unlisted Indian companies. Funds targeting the subcontinent have raised nearly $4 billion in recent months.
