Walling to head Private Bank.
UBS has named Craig Walling chief executive officer of the Private
Bank at UBS Wealth Management US. In his new role, Walling will be responsible
for expanding the firm’s private banking offerings.
Walling’s appointment is key to the UBS goal of creating a
holistic wealth management system for its affluent clients, John Straus, head of
private wealth management, said. “He will lead the effort to strengthen our
private banking platform and identify new opportunities among the ultrahigh- and
high-net-worth client segments to accelerate the growth of this business,”
Straus said.
Walling, who will be based in New York, had previously been
president and CEO of U.S. Trust and president and CEO of Charles Schwab,
Europe.
UBS is one of the largest global asset managers, with offices in
50 countries.
